Updated Yahoo! Messenger 9 Prepares for Valentines Day

For the past couple of days I got a new audibles category in my Yahoo! Messenger, category entitled Valentines that would annoyingly refuse to load up – until today that is. It makes sense that Yahoo would put out some Valentines Day audibles; they do so every year and not just on Valentines Day; Yahoo put out audibles related to the past presidential elections, Halloween, and the winter holidays.

Before we get in any deeper, let me just inform you that the Yahoo! development team have recently issued an update to Yahoo! Messenger 9.0, version 9.0.0.2112 to be more precise. The update includes several bug fixes (inability to log-in and incompatibility problems between Yahoo! Messenger and IOLO security software for example) and some minor visual changes (“Contact is typing a message” is displayed on a different location and offline messages are displayed according to their origin).

The Valentines audibles include a selection of 10 heart shaped animations, each with their own upfront text message that gives you a clue what audio message they will convey. The “Hubba Bubba” audible for example says “Oh Yeah! Shake it baby!” while “Bad Girl” says “I think that somebody needs a spanking…”. If you are worried these messages sound a bit raunchy, then feel free to choose between the remaining other that convey a more traditional Valentines Day Message.

There are other ways to convey your emotions with Yahoo! Messenger: there are the Flirts audibles that should put you in a loving mood, there are several loving emoticons, and there is even an IMVironment that features a bunch of falling hearts on top of a pink background. These are the options so far, but expect the Yahoo! Messenger team to put out some additional features (I am expecting some Valentines Day cards and Avatar tweaks).
