Immensely Successful Angry Birds Game to Get a Sequel
Angry Birds 2, the sequel to the immensely popular Angry Birds game, will be released to the public later this month. It will “flock into app stores worldwide” on July 30th, 2015.
It’s been close to six years since the original Angry Birds game was released. It landed in Apple’s App Store back in December 2009, I have to remind you.
The game, as I’m sure you already know, turned out to be a huge success, spawning multiple spin-offs, attracting millions of fans from all over the world, and earning some 3 billion game downloads.
As Rovio explained, Angry Birds “is the mother of all mobile game apps.” And what does such a game deserve? It deserves a sequel, but not any sequel, “the mother of all sequels – Angry Birds 2!”
Rovio set up an official website for Angry Birds 2, it provided a release date – July 30, 2015 – and it said it’s SUPER excited to show all the fans what it’s been working on. The company did not provide any details on what the game will be like, not yet anyway. It will do so on July 28 when it will hold a special event and present more information about Angry Birds 2.
