We may not know much about the upcoming Angry Birds 2 game, but we do know that Rovio will not make the game available for Microsoft’s Windows Phone.

It will make Angry Birds 2 available for Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android, but it will not make it available for Microsoft’s Windows Phone. Sorry about that, Windows Phone users.

“Unfortunately, Angry Birds 2 will not be released for Windows Phones. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope that you have a chance to play the game on one of the supported platforms, such as Android or iOS!” Rovio’s support team told WMPU.

Peter Vesterbacka, Angry Birds creator and Mighty Eagle, wasn’t so quick to close the door on Windows Phone though. When asked about it on Twitter, he confirmed that Angry Birds 2 won’t be available for Windows Phone “for the time being.”

That leads me to think that perhaps Rovio will eventually get around to making Angry Birds 2 available for Microsoft’s mobile operating system. But then again, who knows. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Speaking about waiting, we don’t have to wait that much longer to get some more information about Angry Birds 2. Last week, Rovio announced that it’s getting ready to release Angry Birds 2, but it did not provide any details about the game. Will it be similar to the classic Angry Birds game? Will it be an RPG like Angry Birds Epic? Will it be a downhill racing game like Angry Birds Go! or a shoot’em up adventure game like Angry Birds Transformers?

All those questions will be answered next week. On July 28, Rovio will hold a special event and present more information about Angry Birds 2. Then on July 30, it will release the game to the public. If you want to get a notification when Angry Birds 2 hits app stores, visit the game’s official website and sign up.
