As 2014 draws to a close and the winter holidays are upon us, it’s time for all of us here at FindMySoft to take a much needed break. We’re going on a little break to celebrate the holidays with friends and family. While we’re away, you will notice a lack of new reviews, software updates, and news. Don’t worry, we’ll be back in 2015, well rested and ready to report the most interesting news, test and review all sorts of software products, and post the latest software updates.

Merry Christmas everyone and have a Happy New Year! A big "thank you" goes out to every visitor who read our news, checked out our reviews, and downloaded software hosted by FindMySoft.

This year, I wrote hundreds of news articles for FindMySoft. Since it’s the end of the year and everyone is doing some sort of “year in review”, I thought it a good idea to do one as well. Here’s a look at the news articles that got the most views this year.

FindMySoft 2014 – Top 10 News
  • Unfriend Notify – a browser add-on for Chrome and Firefox that puts a “Lost Friends” section on your Facebook page. Access this section to see who unfriended you.
  • Firefox Accounts – to make it easier to use Firefox Sync, Mozilla introduced Firefox Account. Instead of using recovery codes and pairing keys, you need only sign into your account.
  • TimePIN and TimeLock – with TimePIN, the current time or the current date becomes the PIN that will unlock your Android. With TimeLock, you can hide photos and videos in a secure vault, a vault that is cleverly disguised as a clock.
  • CCleaner Professional Plus – Piriform bundled 4 products in 1 (CCleaner, Defraggler, Recuva and Speccy) to come up with CCleaner Professional Plus.
  • Background Burner – this free online service can remove the background from any image you provide.
  • Samsung Galaxy Alpha – with the Galaxy Alpha, Samsung introduces a new and sophisticated design: a compact body with a metal frame and a solid finish.
  • Samsung Galaxy S5 – at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Samsung presented the new Galaxy S5 smartphone.
  • Fylet – without needing a cloud service, the Fylet application lets you easily transfer photos and videos from your PC to your Android or from your Android to your PC.
  • Swarm – this August, Foursquare’s Swarm app made it to Microsoft’s Windows Phone Store.
  • Yunio – in January 2014, when I wrote this article, Yonio offered 1GB of cloud storage for free. Unfortunately, Yunio no longer supports free accounts.
Again, Merry Christmas everyone and have a Happy New Year!
