We love games just as much as any hardcore gamer out there, but the annoying fact that we actually have to work for a living because our parents refuse to support us out of college and that promising career in the gaming world fell through, means that we have to contend ourselves with the default games in the Windows operating system. The good news is that with the next iteration of the Windows OS, Windows 7, Microsoft has made some improvements in the gaming department.

In Windows 7 users will be able to enjoy three new, internet-based versions of backgammon, checkers and spades. Brandon LeBlanc explains: “The new versions of these games have been completely redesigned and improved over their old-school predecessors. Tired of Minesweeper? Definitely give these games a try and join the thousands of other players online who are playing too.”

The thing is that if you have unlimited internet access at your place of employment, you might want to give other interesting online games a shot (like the ones from our Feature Office Time Waster series). There are plenty of online games to discover, and most of the times they will trump the Windows default ones.

Moving on, here is a list of games that the Guinness World Records commission deemed the “Top 50 Games of All Times”:
