If you’re excited to play the game, then you need to know about this: EA and Bioware have just unveiled the game’s minimum and recommended system requirements.

If you have an older, less-powerful PC, you’ll want to know if you can run Andromeda at all. Just take a look at the official system requirements listed below to find out.

Mass Effect Andromeda – Minimum requirements
  • CPU – Intel Core i5 3570 or AMD FX 6350 processor.
  • GPU – NVIDIA GTX 660 or AMD Radeon 7850 graphics card with 2GB VRAM.

Andromeda’s story and exciting new features

Humanity needs to find a new home, so they leave the Milky Way and travel to the distant Andromeda galaxy. You are the Pathfinder, the ultimate adventurer in a vast, unexplored galaxy, on a mission to find a new home for humanity. Unravel the mysteries of the Andromeda galaxy as you discover rich, alien worlds in the search for humanity’s new home.

Andromeda is the first game in the Mass Effect series that features an open world environment and lets you pick whatever skills you want your character to have. Speaking about characters, you can choose if you want to play as Sara or Scott Ryder. Once you’ve made your choice, you’ll get to build a formidable hero with amazing weapons, powers and tech.

Andromeda editions and pricing

Unsurprisingly, the game’s publisher – Electronic Arts – has three Mass Effect Andromeda editions to offer. A Standard Edition that’s priced at $59.99, a Deluxe Edition that’ll set you back $69.99, and Super Deluxe Edition that’s a hefty $99.99.

Here’s what you’re missing out on by getting the Standard Edition instead of the more expensive Deluxe or Super Deluxe Edition.

As mentioned at the start of this article, Andromeda will be released on March 21 in the US and March 23 in the EU. You could wait until then to get the game or, you could pre-order it from Origin right now.

To tempt you into pre-ordering Mass Effect Andromeda, Origin has several pre-order bonuses to offer:
  • Deep Space Explorer Armor – armor that can stand up to anything a brand new galaxy can dish out.
  • Multiplayer Booster Pack – includes 5x of 50% XP Boosters.
  • Nomad Skin – a unique skin that will make your Nomad really stand out while you’re exploring mysterious new planets.
These pre-order bonuses apply to all Mass Effect Andromeda editions. No matter which edition you get, be it the least expensive Standard Edition or the most expensive Super Deluxe Edition, you will get the bonuses presented above if you pre-order the game from Origin.

Get the previous Mass Effect games

Mass Effect Andromeda, in case you’re not familiar with this fact, is the 4th game in the Mass Effect series. The previous 3 games have been bundled into a trilogy that’s available for purchase on Origin for $29.99.

If you join to Origin Access, EA’s game subscription service for PC, you’ll have free access to Mass Effect 1, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. Join Origin Access before March 7 and you’ll get a free 7-day trial and access to all the 50+PC games that are in the Origin Access Vault.

Mass Effect 2 is currently offered for free via Origin On the House.

If you want to get Mass Effect from Steam, you can – but only Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2. Mass Effect 1 is priced at $19.99 while Mass Effect 2 is priced at $19.99 for the Standard Edition and $29.99 for the Deluxe Edition. There is a Mass Effect 2 Demo available on Steam as well, but instead of getting that you might as well get Mass Effect 2 for free from Origin On the House.
