If Bing’s prediction is to be believed, Leonardo DiCaprio stands to win his first Oscar at the 88th Academy Awards, which is going to take place on February 28, 2016.

Bing says that Leo will win Best Actor for his role in The Revenant, that The Revenant will win Best Picture, and that The Revenant’s director, Alejandro Iñárritu, will win Best Director. But, given Bing past predictions, you should take all of this is with a grain of salt – a big grain of salt.

Search for 2016 Academy Awards on Bing and Microsoft’s search engine will invite you to explore a list of nominees and predictions for the 88th Academy Awards (a.k.a. 2016 Oscars).

Bing predicts that The Revenant has a 37% chance to win Best Picture, the highest percentage out of all the other nominees.

Bing also predicts that Leonardo DiCaprio will win Best Actor, giving him a 73% chance to win. That’s leaps and bounds over what the other nominees got. Matt Damon for example has a mere 9% chance to win.

And last but not least, Bing predicts that Alejandro Iñárritu will win Best Director for his work on The Revenant. Just like Leo, he has a huge chance to win.

As I mentioned before, given Bing past predictions, you should take all of this is with a grain of salt – a big grain of salt. Let’s take a look at Bing’s past predictions.

Bing’s Super Bowl 50 Prediction

Bing predicted that the Carolina Panthers will win the 50th edition of the Super Bowl. It gave the Panthers a 64% chance to win. Who won the Super Bowl 50? The Denver Broncos.

Bing’s BAFTA and Grammy 2016 Predictions

The Best Film and Original Screenplay awards, based on Bing’s predictions, should have gone to Spotlight. Bing was half right. Spotlight won Best Original Screenplay, but the Best Film award went to The Reventant.

Bing predicted that Brie Larson would win two awards: Leading Actress (for her role in Room) and Rising Star. She won the first award, but the second went to John Boyega.

Rooney Mara should have gotten the Supporting Actress award, according to Bing. It went to Kate Winslet instead, for her role in the 2015 Steve Jobs movie.

Surprisingly, most of Bing’s predictions for Mad Max Fury Road came true. It won Best Editing, Make-up and Hair, as well as Production Design. It did not win Best Sound, which went to The Revenant, and it did not win Best Special Visual Effects either. That award went to Star Wars The Force Awakens.

The Song of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance awards did not go to Taylor Swift, they went to Ed Sheeran for Thinking Out Loud. Swift did win Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album though, as Bing predicted.

UPDATE, February 24, 2016

Roku disagrees with Bing's prediction, saying that Leonardo DiCaprio will not win the Best Actor award. According to Roku, that award will go to... see here.
