Google received more than 200 submissions for its first Google Play Indie Games Festival, which took place in San Francisco earlier this month. Out of all these submissions, Google carefully selected just 30 games – the ones that promise the most fund and engaging experience; the ones that celebrate the passion, innovation, and art of indies.

Out of the 30 games that were showcased at the first Google Play Indie Games Festival, 15 made it through the voting session and got the chance to go on stage. Out of these 15 games, a judging panel of industry experts picked 7 finalists. And out of these 7 finalists, the panel selected 3 winners.

These are the 3 winners of the first Google Play Indie Games Festival

Bit Bit Blocks – a cute and action-packed competitive puzzle game. Enjoy head-to-head puzzle play with friends or against the game.

Bit Bit Blocks is available for iOS and Android.

Numbo Jumbo – an arcade puzzle number game that puts your addition and pattern matching skills to the test. The goal in the game is to connect numbers that add together (like 2 2 4 since 2+2=4).

Numbo Jumbo is available for iOS and Android.

Orbit – Playing with Gravity – a gravity simulator and puzzle game where you have to launch planets and get them to orbit around black holes.

Orbit – Playing with Gravity is available for Android.

The 3 games presented above were picked out of 7 finalist nominees, as I've mentioned at the start of this article. So...

Here are the 4 finalists that were recognized by the judges, but weren’t lucky enough to win.

Antihero – a fast-paced strategy game that tasks you with running a thieves guild in a gas-lit city ruled by corruption and greed.

Antihero is "coming soon" to Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android.

Armajet – a free-to-play multiplayer shooter that has teams of players compete against each other in fast-paced jetpack combat.

Armajet is under development, currently in Beta.

Norman's Night In: The Cave – a 2D puzzle-platformer that tells the tale of how Norman finds himself lost within the world of cave. Somehow, he’s got the strange feeling that he was meant to be there.

Norman's Night In: The Cave is "coming soon" to the App Store and Google Play.

Parallyzed – an atmospheric adventure platformer set in a dark and enchanting dreamscape. The game features twin sisters who have been cast into separate dimensions and must make their way through an ever-difficult, spooky landscape that keeps trying to block their progress.

Parallyzed is available for Android, coming soon to iOS.

The finalists and winners of the first Google Play Indie Games Festival were rewarded with prizes including Google I/O 2017 tickets, a Tango Development kit, Google Cloud credits, an NVIDIA Android TV & K1 tablet, and a Razer Forge TV bundle.
