As I said yesterday, I like it when I can get stuff for free or for a very cheap price. And I am sure you like it just as much when you don’t have to spend your hard earned money. When we talk cheap, it seems like the next word that follows is Skype. The other day we had to talk about Skype because it is offering free landline calls to numerous countries around the world (see here).

Now we have to talk about Skype because it made another announcement. Skype announced that if you want to stay in touch with your friends or family in India, you can just go ahead and throw away your international calling card. You can stay in touch with your loved ones by simply using Skype. You can call India by using Skype and it will not cost you an arm and a leg as long as you get one of Skype's subscriptions to make cheap calls to India.

“If you have friends or family in India, Skype’s a great way to stay in touch. With our monthly subscriptions you get great rates on calls to landlines and mobiles in India. No hidden fees, and no long term contract needed. Our subscriptions start from as little as $1.79/€1,39/£0.99 per month* for 60 minutes of calls to landlines and mobiles in India. Which works out at just 3¢($)/2.3¢(€)/1.7p per minute,” announced Skype’s Peter Parkes.

You can use Skype on a variety of devices. You can use Skype on your mobile phone – supported devices include the iPhone, the iPod Touch, and various Sony Ericsson and Nokia devices. You can use Skype on your Windows or Mac OS X powered machine – the latest Windows version is Skype 4.2; the latest Mac version is Skype 2.8. You can even use Skype on a landline phone if you get a Skype To Go number.
