Mirror’s Edge, one of the year’s most hotly anticipated games, comes out this month. And more to the point, the game is scheduled to be released on June 7 in North America and June 9 in Europe (but it was originally scheduled to be released in May).

Alongside the Mirror’s Edge Catalyst game, EA has a Mirror’s Edge Companion app. While the iOS version of the app has yet to show up in the App Store, the Android version is already available on Google Play. Before you go get the app, let me quickly tell you what it has to offer.

UPDATE: it took a bit longer, but the Mirror’s Edge Companion app for iOS has been published to Apple's App Store.

Mirror’s Edge Companion app – Main Features
  • News – view the latest game news, which seem to be pulled from the News section of the official Mirror's Edge Catalyst website.
  • City of Glass map – a 3D map that lets you see where you and your friends are in the City of Glass.
  • Runner profile – access your player profile, track your game progression, manage your user generated content and challenges.
  • Social Play – facilitates social play against other runners.
"As a Runner, you’re often on the move," explains EA in an article that presents 64 reasons to play the game. "But the Mirror’s Edge Companion lets you bring the world of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst with you on the go. Available at game launch for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone, the Companion app is tied to your Runner profile and lets you keep track of your in-game progress, customization, and game news."
