Remember how Google introduced a redesigned Google Calendar way back in November 2014? The announcement that introduced the redesigned app ended with “and yes, we’re also working on a version for iPhone.”

Some 4 months have passed and the redesigned Google Calendar for iOS is here. You can grab it for free from Apple’s App Store. But before you do, find out what new features it has to offer. They’re conveniently listed below.

The Redesigned Google Calendar for iOS
  • Turn emails into events – emails with information about hotel reservations, concert tickets, booked flights, and other things of the sort, automatically become Google Calendar events. The Calendar app will even update these events in real-time.
  • Assists feature helps with time-saving suggestions – there’s a new feature called Assists that starts showing suggestions when you start typing someone’s name or when you start typing a location. Assists adapts to your preferences over time. So if you often go for a run in Central Park, it will suggest this event when you type “run”.
  • Polished new schedule view – the new schedule view includes dates and times; it also includes photos and maps. Thanks to this beautiful new view you can more easily scan your calendar. .
  • All calendars – the app works with all the calendars you've already set up on your phone.
