HERE, Nokia’s powerful and useful mapping app is now available for iOS too. HERE for iOS has just been rolled out to the App Store.

HERE for Android has been around since October 2014 as a Beta, and as a final product since February, 2015. The app has been downloaded more than 4 million times by Android users around the world.

You can get it too from Google Play here.

Mid-February, when HERE for Android graduated from Beta, the HERE 360 team said that an iOS version is “coming soon”. I’m glad to say that “soon” means today, January 11, 2015.

The team behind the HERE mapping app just announced that they rolled out HERE for iOS on Apple’s App Store (if the link doesn’t work, it’s because HERE is dealing with some technical issues; check again later).

HERE for iOS features maps for lots of locations, offline navigation, live traffic info, a route planner, reviews for places, and plenty of other cool features. Unlike the app that was previously available on the App Store, it is optimized for iOS and offers an experience built for iOS from the ground up.

HERE for iOS – Main Features
  • Sign in – you can sign into the application using an existing HERE account or by using a Facebook account
  • Maps – maps for lots of countries around the world; said maps can be downloaded and used offline.
  • Route planner – shows driving, public transit and walking routes.
  • Traffic info – real-time traffic and incident information.
  • Collections – take your favorite places and create Collections; use Collections to personalize your map. Location info – tap a place icon to view more info about that location.
  • Designed for iOS – the app has a polished feel and an easy to navigate interface.
“We want to bring our maps and services to as many people as possible, no matter whether they are in the car or using a smartphone or smartwatch” said Sean Fernback, President of HERE.
