Mountain View-based search engine giant Google has released yet another updated version of the Chrome browser, update targeted to the dev community. The official string version attached to the update is Chrome 3.0.193.0, and unlike previous updates (Chrome 3.0.191.3 and Chrome 3.0.192.0/1) it is available for Windows-powered machines only.
Google Chrome Program Manager, Anthony Laforge, explains: “Google Chrome 3.0.193.0 has been released to the Dev channel for Windows. More details are available in the release notes and the log of all revisions. You can find out about getting on the Dev channel here. If you find new issues, please let us know by filing a bug [here].”
Chrome 3.0.193.0 highlights:
- Fixed an issue where in certain conditions a new window would open off screen in the case of dual monitor systems (issue 15199).
- Fixed an issue where if you navigated to a new URL too quickly while the page was loading, then a tab would close (issue 16052).
- Fixed an issue where the browser would crash when downloading an extension (issue 15881).
- - Fixed an issue where the browser would improperly display the time zone in history (issue 12579).
- Enhanced handling of Java applets.
- Back and forward keyboard shortcuts are properly displayed now in an app window context menu.
- OS window wrapping for alerts and authentification windows has been removed.
- Windowed plug-ins used to hang after a print dialog was displayed. This is no longer the case.
- Support for extended tooltips on a new tab page has been added.
- The default browser path check is case sensitive.
- Cancel a drag and drop operation by pressing the Escape key.
- In order to fix some crash issues, the V8 JavaScript engine has been updated to version 1.2.13.2.
