Update Available on the Dev Channel: Chrome 3.0.191.3
At the start of the week an update for the Google developed web browser, Google Chrome, has been released on the dev channel. The update comes with the official string of Chrome 3.0.191.3, is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux-powered machines, and comes with several bug fixes (no version changes).
Engineering Program Manager with Google Chrome, Jonathan Conradt, comments: “Google Chrome 3.0.191.3 has been released to the Dev channel for Windows, Linux and Mac. You can find out about getting on the Dev channel here. If you find new issues, please let us know by filing a bug [here].”
Google Chrome 3.0.191.3 highlights:
- Command line switch “new-new-tab-page” for the New Tab Page.
- IME for non-roman script languages added to Linux version.
- Fixed printing issues for Windows version.
- Added “Save As” dialog for the Mac OS X version.
- Fixed some proxy servers that were not working properly.
- Fixed problems with animated GIFs, meaning that animated GIFs now move.
- Extensions changes.

The following problems have not been addressed, but Google is aware of them (known issues):
- Command + S shortcut to save documents in Google Docs, on Mac-powered machines, has not been implemented.
- When you first open the bookmark manager in the Linux version of Chrome, the bookmarks bar context menu is disabled.
- You cannot access bookmarks that do not fit on the bookmarks bar, in the Linux version of Chrome.
- There is no spacing between thumbnails on New Tab Page.
