According to a study by Intel Security, men are better at unplugging than women, older people have a harder time unplugging than Millennials, and Americans are the least successful at staying away from work emails.
Unsurprisingly, the study also revealed that going on a
tech-free vacation has lots of benefits. Those who unplugged said they had a more enjoyable time, felt less stress, were able to better absorb their surroundings, and felt more connected to the people they were with.
Nearly 14,000 men and women from around the world, ages 21 to 54, took part in Intel Security’s study. I bring this up only to mention that more than 55% of them failed to unplug. Why? The top 5 reasons are…
- Need to be reachable for my family at all times.
- Want to use device for navigation/trip planning.
- Need to use device to access music.
- Find it impossible to disconnect.
- Want to be able to post on social media.
