On June 2, Mozilla rolled out an update for its Firefox web browser – Firefox version 38.0.5. By looking at the release notes, we see that this release comes with three new features:
If a webpage is available in Reader View, you will see a book-like icon in the address bar. Click it and Firefox will strip away all the clutter, all the elements that might distract you from an enjoyable reading experience. That means buttons, ads, and background images will be removed. And the text size, contrast and layout will be modified to provide better readability.

All this talk about readability brings Microsoft’s Edge web browser to mind. Microsoft’s new browser comes with several new features – a new rendering engine, a fresh design for the interface, a new tab page, Cortana integration, and a new feature called…are you ready for this…Reading View.

As a big Firefox fan, I have a big grin on my face right now. I can’t but think that Mozilla one-upped Microsoft by giving Firefox a feature that's much like one of the key new features that Microsoft plans to offer with Edge.
