Redmond-based software giant Microsoft is giving all US residents the chance to win a Pink Sony VAIO Y laptop (ARV $6,000) as part of a Valentine’s Day Sweepstakes. All you have to do to take part in the sweepstakes is become a follow of @windowsblog on Twitter and share a love story or a funny moment that involved using technology with someone you love; you must share that story on the Windows Experience Blog (click here).

If your story puts a smile on people’s faces, makes them tear up or laugh out loud, then you’re a shoe in. Go ahead and share your story with the world; you have until 11:59 p.m. PT on February 14, 2012 to submit it. You’re eligible to take part in the competition if you’re a legal US resident, not a Microsoft employee, not involved with running the sweepstakes, and not an immediate family or household member of a Microsoft employee. Only one entry per participant is allowed.

Some of you may be wondering why Microsoft decided to go with a Sony VAIO Y and not some other laptop as the prize for this competition. Here’s the explanation provided by Communications Manager with Microsoft, Kristina Libby:

“It’s the PC that all of our Windows Champions have, so you can ask any of them for their honest opinion. However, here’s what I think – its portable meaning you get stay on task and connected from anywhere in the world while enjoying the company of the one’s you love. Its pink which means it’s a sweet accessory with your favorite outfits, it’s trendsetting and its screams that you are fun, interested and interesting. Oh, and its running Windows 7 and also includes great photo and video sharing apps such as Windows Live Photo Gallery and Windows Live Movie Maker to show those you love just how much you love them.”
