Augmented Minds, the developer that brought you Wave Alarm, recently introduced a new iOS app that can be used hands free: Wave Timer. The nice thing about both apps is that they allow you to turn off the alarm/timer without touching your iPhone. You can do so with gestures – by waving your hand in front of your iOS-powered device.

Wave Alarm will change the way you wake up in the morning. When the alarm goes off, you do no need to touch your iPhone to turn it off or to hit the snooze button – you can do these things with gestures. A simple wave over your iPhone’s screen is enough to enable the snooze function or to turn off the alarm. There are a few other interesting features the app has to offer, besides this “wave to snooze” part: modern interface, brightness control, weather forecast, 10 alarm sounds, play music from your library, background alarms. You get all this for the awesome price of free.

The recently released Wave Timer application is similar to it predecessor, Wave Alarm. The main difference is that this is a timer app that you can use while working out for example. After a 20 minute workout, you may not want to touch your iPhone while you’re dripping with sweat. Thanks to Wave Timer you don’t have to. Just wave your hand and the timer will be turned off.

“One of the most interesting (and common) use cases of Wave Alarm, was actually to use it as a hands free timer for cooking, works outs, etc.. Well, we have heard you, and introduce Wave Timer – Hands Free Timer! This should make it so much easier to do all those timer functions that you were using Wave Alarm for, but with a new, sleek, awesome, quick interface designed for timer functions!” commented the Augmented Minds team.

Wave Timer is also offered for free.
