Rovio Account, the service that lets you save game progress and continue on another device, is now internationally available for iOS and Android users.

Rovio Account was introduced back in May and it has been rolling out gradually for the last couple of months. The news is that Rovio Account is now globally available on iOS and Android devices. You can use it to save game progress and sync game progress between your devices – but for now Rovio Account is only available for Angry Birds (the original one) and The Croods. Rovio explained that in the near future it will make Rovio Account work with other Angry Birds titles – and non Angry Birds titles as well.

“We know that you've all been waiting for a way to sync progress between devices and we really feel that we have an amazing solution in place now,” explained Rovio Entertainment. “For now, Rovio Account is available on the original Angry Birds game, as well as The Croods. The next step is for us to roll this out onto other Angry Birds and non Angry Birds titles, so that's exactly what we're going to do!”

By registering for a Rovio Account you don’t have to lose your game progress when you switch from one device to another, when you need to reset your device, or if you share your device with other players. All your game progress is saved by the account; log in and you’ll be able to continue your game from where you left off.

You only need a valid email address to register for an account. After you register, all your game progress will be saved to the cloud. Game progress from several devices can be combined and added to an account. You will be signed out automatically if you don’t verify your account for a certain amount of time or if you change the password.

Rovio Account is currently available for the original Angry Birds game and for The Croods game, on Android and iOS. Rovio Account will support other games published by Rovio Entertainment in the future.
