Office 365 Coming Next Week
Office 365, Microsoft’s next generation cloud productivity tool that brings together Microsoft Office, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Lync Online, is currently available as a Beta. As you may remember, the public Beta version was rolled out to small business and enterprises who wanted to joins the Beta testing program back in April 2011.
The news is that Office 365 will shed its Beta tag and will reach the general availability milestone next week – on the 28th of June to be more precise. On Tuesday, the 28th of June, Microsoft will host an invitation-only press event in New York City, during which it will announce the launch of the final, stable version of Office 365. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will be there to talk about Office 365.
Office 365 is a subscription service that helps organizations gain access to powerful web-enabled tools, gain access to an integrated suite of email and collaboration services suited for businesses of all time. Organization members can work from virtually anywhere and on pretty much any device, including PCs, Macs, iPhones, Android powered-devices and Windows Phones. Furthermore organizations can extend the functionality Office 365 has to offer by using the apps and services included in the new Office 365 Marketplace. There are currently 100 apps and 400 services for Office 365 in the Office 365 Marketplace.
