Incredibly popular social networking site Facebook was founded and was launched on the 4th of February, 2004. It is now the 4th of February 2014, which means that Facebook is 10 years old.

Facebook is celebrating this joyous occasion by introducing “A Look Back”, a new feature that lets you see some of your biggest moments on the social networking site. And that’s not all!

It may be hard to believe, but Facebook has been around for a decade. People keeping track of these things will remember that Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook back on 20014, on the 4th of February. Since it is the 4th of February 2014 now, it means that Facebook is 10 years old. I think congratulations are in order! So, here goes: Happy b-day Facebook!

Any anniversary is a good time to celebrate – and that is precisely what the company is doing on its 10th anniversary. As part of its 10th birthday, Facebook introduced “A Look Back. Starting with the 4th of February you can access A Look Back and see some of your biggest moments on the social networking site.

Here’s a video presentation for A Look Back.

Also as part of its 10th birthday, Facebook rolled out a video called Global Connections – I’ve embedded it below. This video puts the focus on the 201.6 billion friend connections that have been formed since February 2004. the video lets you visualize the connections facilitated by the social network. “In this visualization of those connections, the locations of people on Facebook were plotted along latitude and longitude lines and a line to connect each pair of friends was drawn,” says the video’s description.

There’s another reason to be cheerful this week, the week of Facebook’s 10th anniversary. I am of course talking about the launch of Paper, the new app that makes storytelling beautiful.
