Microsoft’s 'Age of Empires: Castle Siege' recently landed on Apple’s App Store – the Canadian part of the App Store for now.

This is good news for fans of the game who thought that Microsoft would not make it available for iOS. It proves that Microsoft does indeed want to make 'Age of Empires: Castle Siege' available for Apple’s iOS mobile operating system.

Microsoft Studios and Smoking Gun Interactive rolled out 'Age of Empires: Castle Siege' back in September 2014. Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone users who got the game from the Windows Store or Windows Phone Store got to enjoy the following:

Age of Empires: Castle Siege – Main Features
  • Build an empire – start with a caste and build a city, train armies and use them to defend yourself or to attack opponents, gather resources.
  • Multiple civilizations – you can pick one of six civilizations from the Medieval Era: Britons, Byzantines, Franks, Kievan Rus, Saracens, and Teutons.
  • Heroes – heroes like Richard the Lionheart are ready to be called upon. If you need to turn the battle in your favor, call a hero.
  • Historical battles – the game lets you play through 10 historical battles, like the Fall of Constantinople for example.
  • Leaderboards – forge an alliance with your Xbox Live friends, compete against other alliances, and make it to the top of the leaderboards.
  • Cross-platform play – since your game progress is saved to your Gamertag, you can switch from one Windows 8 device to another. You can play on your Windows 8 PC, tablet or Windows Phone 8.
If you live in Canada, you can get 'Age of Empires: Castle Siege' from Apple’s App Store.
The game is free, requires iOS 7.0 or newer, and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Get this fast-paced game and prove that you’re a siege genius, a tactical mastermind, and an empire-building prodigy.
