Here are a couple of news related to VLC, the media player that supports any format you can think of and consequently can play any media file right out of the box.

The first news is that VLC for Windows Phone is now available for download from Microsoft’s Windows Phone Store. And the second news is that VLC for iOS could make a return this 2015.

VLC for Windows Phone – It’s Out, so Go Get It!

Back in December 2014, VLC launched a private Beta for its Windows Phone app. It’s now January 2015 and the Beta testing phase is over. This means that VLC for Windows Phone shed its Beta tag and is now available for download from Microsoft’s Windows Phone Store. So if you want a properly, properly good media player for your Windows Phone, you’re very well advised to get VLC. VLC for Windows Phone is available for download here.

In related Microsoft news, you may want to know that Microsoft recently introduced the Nokia 215, an internet-ready phone with a durable body and a battery that can last for about a month on stand-by. Read more about this topic here.

VLC for iOS – The App Will Return, Developer Confirms!

The VLC for iOS app disappeared from Apple’s App Store back in January 2014, much to the disappointment of many iOS and VLC fans. The good news is that VLC Lead Developer Felix Paul Kühne confirmed that VLC for iOS will return in early 2015. All I can say is that tons of iOS users will be very happy to have VLC back.

VLC for Android – After 2 Years, It’s No Longer a Beta

Just like VLC for Windows Phone, VLC for Android shed its Beta tag as well. The thing is that it took VLC for Android 2 years to do so. The media player was released as a Beta in July 2012 – and it graduated from Beta in December 2014. VLC for Android version 1.0 is available for download on Google Play here.
