We don’t know what the iPhone 7 has to offer, not just yet anyway. We’re going to find out during Apple’s annual fall event, which is going to take place today, September 7, at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

So as I was saying, we don’t know what the iPhone 7 has to offer. But we do know what current iPhone users want from the new device. According to a new study conducted by Market Strategies International, the top 7 features that people want from the new iPhone 7 are...

1. A bigger battery

This is the feature that current iPhone users want most. 80% of the iPhone users who took part in the survey said they want the iPhone 7’s battery to last longer.

2. Water resistance

Rumors says that the iPhone 7 might indeed be waterproof (just like all of Samsung’s recent flagships). So good news for the 74% of iPhone users who said they want this feature from the upcoming iPhone 7.

3. Wireless charging

This is another feature that Samsung’s flagships already have. Unfortunately for the 64% of iPhone users who said they want this feature, rumors have it that wireless charging isn’t in the cards for the iPhone 7. One the bright side, some rumors say that Apple might be working on an iPhone case that has wireless charging capabilities.

4. Higher quality camera

58% of iPhone users said they want the iPhone 7 to have a higher quality camera. Which reminds me about Apple’s Shot On iPhone campaign. Guess the users aren’t as happy about the iPhone’s camera as Apple would have you think.

5. More memory

58% of iPhone customers said they want the new iPhone 7 to have more memory. That’s memory as in RAM, the thing that Apple never talks about during its events. According to the rumors, the iPhone 7 might indeed have more RAM: 3GB of RAM, 1GB more than the iPhone 6S and iPhone SE, which have 2GB of RAM.

6. Better screen quality/resolution

55% of iPhone users said they want the iPhone 7 to have higher screen resolution. And speaking about the screen, 61% of iPhone users who have a large screen device such as the iPhone 6S Plus said that they want the iPhone 7 to have a bigger screen. But only 30% of people with older iPhones (i.e., iPhone 5S and earlier) said they want a larger screen.

7. More storage space

iPhone users don’t just want more RAM memory, they also want more storage space. 53% of iPhone users said they want the iPhone 7 to be able to store more data.

TL;DR? Watch this!

The survey conducted by Market Strategies International, which is entitled iPhone 7 Market Landscaper, also found that Samsung customers are very interested in the iPhone 7.

33% of all Samsung owners and 45% of Galaxy Note customers said they’d like to get the new iPhone 7.

"Our conversations with customers reveal a strong likelihood that Samsung Note users are ripe for defecting to Apple," said Greg Mishkin, vice president, research & consulting, Market Strategies. "Samsung’s recent issues are a huge boon to Apple, just as many were writing off the iPhone 7 release as insignificant."
