Tim Cook, the 53-year old CEO of Apple, officially came out of the closet. The American business executive admitted to being gay and said that he’s proud to be a member of the LGBT community.

"I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me," Tim Cook said in an editorial for Bloomberg Businessweek published on October 30, 2014.

Members of the tech community, Apple employees, and some members of the mainstream media have known about it for some time now. I mean, he did make the most powerful LGBT person on Out Magazine’s 2013 power list (see here). And now, everybody in the world knows it too. Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, is gay. He is the first and only gay Fortune 500 CEO.

Earlier today Bloomberg Businessweek published an article entitled “Tim Cook Speaks Up.” In it, Tim Cook admits to the whole world that he is gay, says that he is proud to be gay, and says that he considers being gay as one of the greatest gifts that God could have bestowed upon him.

Tim Cook explained that he never denied his sexual orientation, but he didn’t publicly acknowledge it either. Well, everything is out in the clear now.

Tim Cook first made the news here on FindMySoft.com back in January 2011, when Steve Jobs took a medical leave and left Tim Cook to manage things in his absence. As we all know, Steve Jobs passed away later that year – he died at home with his family on October 5th, 2011. After Steve Jobs’ passed away, Tim Cook became Apple’s new CEO.

Speaking about that, I have to remind you that Christian Bale will portray Steve Jobs in a new biopic that will be directed by Danny Boyle and will be based on the 2011 Walter Isaacson Steve Jobs biography. Aaron Sorkin is the one who adapted Walter Isaacson’s book into a script and he’s also the one who confirmed that Christian Bale – Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, or Bradley Cooper – will play Steve Jobs in Danny Boyle’s new film.

Wonder if they’ll make a movie about Tim Cook’s struggles as a member of a sexual minority.
