Christian Bale will portray Steve Jobs in an upcoming biopic directed by Danny Boyle. Famous Hollywood actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Bradley Cooper were considered for the role.

Samsung launched a new campaign for its NX1 premium camera. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his open collaborative production company hitRecord will produce a short film using Samsung’s NX1.

Christian Bale as Steve Jobs in a New Biopic

Ashton Kutcher portrayed Steve Jobs in the 2013 American biographical drama film Jobs. It is now Christian Bale’s turn to portray Steve Jobs in a new biopic that will be directed by Danny Boyle and will be based on the 2011 Walter Isaacson Steve Jobs biography.

Well known screenwriter Aaron Sorkin recently confirmed that Christian Bale has been picked to play Steve Jobs in the upcoming Danny Boyle film. The biopic is set to start shooting in the next few months.

As a little reminder, Steve Paul Jobs passed away on Wednesday, October 5th, at home with his family. He was born on February 24, 1955 and died at home with his family on October 5th, 2011. He was the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Apple. He was a visionary, an inventor, a highly successful entrepreneur who will be dearly missed. The world lost the most celebrated person in technology and business on the planet.

Walter Isaacson’s authorized biography of Steve Jobs, entitled “Steve Jobs,” was released to the public on the 24th of October 2011. The book was released a month sooner than the initial release date due to Steve Jobs’ passing away. Sony acquired the movie rights to the book from Walter Isaacson; the aforementioned Aaron Sorkin adapted the book into a script for the upcoming biopic that stars Christian Bale.

UPDATE November 4: Christian Bale came to the conclusion that he is not right for the part and withdrew from the movie.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Promotes Samsung's NX1 Premium Camera

Samsung recently announced that it launched a new campaign to promote its NX1 premium camera. Entitled “In a City, the campaign was launched in partnership with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his open collaborative production company, hitRECord. Using Samsung’s NX1, Gordon-Levitt and hitREcord will produce a short film inspired by cities across the globe; the film will capture the elements that give each city its unique character.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Joseph on this project and are confident that his creative talent, combined with the capabilities of the NX1, will create a memorable short film that captures the lives of consumers in cities across the globe,” said Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics. “The NX1 offers ultimate filming experience with its sophisticated features, so filmmakers like Joseph can focus on telling their story without worrying about the technical performance of their equipment.”

“Cinematography is one of the most powerful aspects of filmmaking. To visually express the mood of a scene or moment is as essential to storytelling as a script, a score, or an actor’s performance. When you’re creating art, it’s important to know that your tools will match your ambition, and that you can rely on the technology to enable, not limit your artistic vision,” said Joseph Gordon-Levitt. “I’m looking forward to filming with Samsung NX1 and eager to work with the hitRECord community to create something truly special.”
