Back in January, I reported that Microsoft introduced the Lumia 435, touting the fact that it is the most affordable Lumia phone to date.

Well, forget about the 435, because a new phone is now Microsoft’s most affordable Lumia: the new Lumia 430 Dual SIM.

The Lumia 430 Dual SIM, the latest addition to Microsoft’s range of Lumia smartphones, takes the crown as Microsoft’s most affordable Lumia phone.

Priced at $70, it is even cheaper than the Lumia 435. Don’t think that you’re getting less performance just because the price is lower. The two phones are pretty much the same. Both have a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM, both have a 2MP main camera, both have a 4-inch display, both have 8GB of storage space.

Lumia 430 Dual SIM – Main Features
  • Display – 4-inch WVGA LCD 235ppi screen.
  • Dimensions & weight – 120.5mm height, 63.2mm width, 10.6mm thick; 127.9g weight.
  • Processor – 1.2GHZ dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor.
  • Memory & storage – 1GB of RAM; 8GB storage; microSD up to 128GB; up to 30GB free OneDrive cloud storage space.

  • Sensors – ambient light sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor, GPS.
  • Connectivity – USB, Bluetooth, WiFi.
  • Battery – 1500mAh replaceable battery that offers 8.4 hours of talk time and 19 days of standby time.
  • Price – $70 (estimated retail price before local taxes and subsidiaries; actual pricing may vary by market).
  • Colors – bright orange and black.
  • Operating system – Windows Phone 8.1 with the Lumia Denim Update; ability to upgrade to Windows 10 when it debuts this summer.
The Lumia 430 Dual SIM will begin rolling out in select markets in the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus starting in April 2015, and in India toward the end of April 2015.

“People around the world have responded enthusiastically to our affordable Lumia range. We continue to invest in this segment to ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy signature Microsoft experiences, regardless of budget,” said Jo Harlow, corporate vice president for Phones at Microsoft. “The Lumia 430 Dual SIM continues our commitment to combining the right hardware, software, services and apps with the right price to give people a smartphone they can afford and be proud to use.”
