It is October, and you know what that means, don’t you? That’s right, it is time to prepare for Halloween. It is time to get the Halloween decorations out from the basement (or attic, or wherever you keep them) and time to start looking for a ghoulish Halloween costume.

Picnik, the online photo editor that Mountain View-based search engine giant Google acquired back in March, has something to help you get into the Halloween spirit. The team behind the online photo editor announced that it released some cool effects so that you can spook up your photos.

“On the Picnik team, Halloween is one of our favorite times of year. We get a bit giddy anticipating our braaaaainstorm session for this holiday. We love dreaming up ghouls and ghosts that bring spooky effects to your photos. This October, we brought back mob favorites, like Vampire and Zombie, Lightning and Ghostify. And we’ve introduced new effects like eeriness with one click, unearthly textures and heaps of new stickers,” announced on behalf of the Picnik team, Lisa Conquergood.

The Picnik team has rolled out:
- Halloween effects to help you spook up a picture or turn the person in the picture into a creature of the night. You will find effects such as Vampire Eyes, Blood Stains, Zombify, Blood Splatters, Funhouse Mirrors, and many more.
- Halloween stickers such as hats, ghosts and jack-o-lanterns, fangs, lesions and tombstones.
- Halloween fonts so you can add some spooky text to your spooked up images.
- Halloween costumes like masks, eyeballs, and paint-on fake bear.
- Halloween frames to help you frame your pictures.
- Halloween collages.
