Three of the biggest names in the tech industry are offering a helping hand to sports fans around the world who want to follow the 2016 Summer Olympics (or Rio 2016 for short).

Here’s how you can keep an eye on Rio 2016 with a bit of help from Google, Microsoft, and Samsung.

Google Search offers easy access to tons of Rio 2016 info

Search for Rio 2016 on your mobile or desktop and Google will present a nice collection of very useful information about the Olympic Games: upcoming events, detailed schedule, list of sports, list of countries, medal standings, and much more.

Google has partnered with broadcasters in more than 60 countries. By doing so, it will be able to bring official highlights and breath-taking moments from the Olympic Games to YouTube. When you search for "Rio 2016" on Google or YouTube, Google will bring up these highlights.

"In celebration of the next chapter in Olympics history, we’re bringing the best our products have to offer to help people around the world stay up-to-date with the Olympic Games Rio 2016," said Google Product Manager, Jonathan Livni.

Microsoft's Bing also has tons of Rio 2106 to offer

Bing, the second largest search engine in the US, also has tons of useful information to offer. Start typing Rio 2016 into Bing and it understands that you’re looking for info about the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Just like Google Search, Bing provides easy access to tons of useful info: news, upcoming events you might want to watch, detailed schedule, list of sports and athletes, medal count, and more.

One interesting thing about Bing is its Daily Predicts section that features fun factoids and stories about various athletes and events. As the Olympic Games heat up, Daily Predicts will also feature predicted medal outcomes.

"Bing has everything you need to stay on top of Summer Games related topics, including information on athletes, event times, links to streaming events, medal counts, trending news, and much more," said the Bing Team.

Microsoft’s Cortana has answers to all your Rio 2016 questions

Cortana, Microsoft’s digital personal assistant, can answer whatever question you may have about the 2016 Olympic Games. It can bring up the Games schedule, it can present medal counts, and it can tell you more about the athletes that compete in the Games.

Cortana can also play a Rio 2016 trivia game with you. If you want to test your knowledge of current and past athletes, say "Hey Cortana, guess the summer games athlete". Cortana will then give you a clue and you’ll have to guess the athlete.

Microsoft’s Outlook has a new special Rio 2016 calendar

The team behind Outlook is well aware of the fact that you want to follow the 2016 Olympic Games. Consequently, it recently introduced the new Outlook Interesting Calendar which lets you add Rio 2016 (and other popular sports) to your calendar.

"Powered by Bing, Outlook Interesting calendar lets you browse a curated list of Summer Games, sports leagues and teams and add them to your calendar," explained the Outlook Team. "Once added, your events will show up on your Outlook calendar across all your devices. It’s simple, intuitive and ensures you don’t miss a thing."

Samsung just introduced the official Rio 2016 app

Samsung is helping athletes and regular folk alike. It’s helping athletes by giving them free limited edition phones, and it’s helping regular folk with the official Rio 2016 mobile app, developed in collaboration with the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee.

The app has the most up-to-date information on the Olympic schedule and results, medals, sports, athletes and teams, venues, maps and spectators guides.

"Not only can the Rio 2016 app provide users with all the Olympic Games information that users need, but it is also highly customizable, so users can focus on what matters most to them. User can choose to get results and push-notification alerts based on their favorite countries, sports or athletes, as well as the start time of events, results and medals," said Samsung.

The official Rio 2016 app is available for iOS, Android, as well as Windows Phone.
