Avast recently rolled out a new mobile app for Android, app that promises to significantly boost your Android’s battery life. As the security company explained, the Avast Battery Saver app can extend Android battery life by 7 hours and save up to 20% on one charge.

"Everyone needs more battery life for their mobile devices – but most battery savers shut down the wrong apps," said Jude McColgan, president of mobile of Avast. "Avast Battery Saver learns which apps are most important to the user, and shuts down only those that are less used."

Avast Battery Saver – Main Features

• Stop battery draining apps – the app detects apps that drain your battery and stops them. The app shows how much battery each app eats up.
• Automatic optimization – with the aim of squeezing as much battery life as possible, the app optimizes phone settings like internet connectivity, screen brightness, and timeout.
• Smart profiles – you can configure smart profiles; they will be activated based on time, location, and battery level.
• Battery estimate – the app looks at actual phone usage and historical data to determine remaining battery life.
• Emergency Mode – this mode turns off all functions that require significant energy. It comes in handy when your battery is low and you know you won’t be able to recharge it anytime soon.

Avast Battery Saver is available for download on Google Play here. Please note that the app requires Android 4.0 or newer to run.
