Retry, the 8-bit and 80s-themed game that Rovio Entertainment rolled out via its LVL11 publishing arm, reached an impressive milestone: 10 million downloads.

The people who downloaded and played Retry helped the game reach a few other interesting milestones:
  • 2.3 billion retries – you will crash, that is a given! But you can retry until you get it right.
  • 235 million coins collected – in true 80s fashion, you get to collect coins as you pilot your wreck of an airplane from point A to point B.
  • 86 million activated checkpoints.
  • 74 million stages played.

The Retry game features 8-bit graphics and a soundtrack made up of songs inspired by 80s power anthems. To celebrate the fact that Retry has been downloaded more than 10 million times, Rovio Entertainment made the aforementioned soundtrack available to the general public.

The Retry soundtrack is available on Google Play, iTunes, Spotify, and Deezer.

Rovio made Retry available to the public back in October – that’s when the game made it to Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store. If you managed to play through all the levels, then I have some good news for you: Rovio announced that it will release an update called Jungle All The Way.

The Jungle All The Way update will feature 16 new stages set in a jungle world, new achievements, and a new world map.

If you’re not familiar with Retry, I invite you to check it out. All I have to say is that if you liked the 8-bit games of old, you are sure to love Retry. It is an old school game that puts you in the cockpit of a "smoking, loop-the-looping, out of control, 8-bit jalopy of an airplane". It is quite challenging and difficult to play. But that makes beating the levels even more gratifying.
