Rovio Entertainment announced that it will soon launch a new game called RETRY. The game is described as hard, addictive, and old school. Check out the video embedded below to get a taste of what RETRY is like. The game will be released via Rovio’s new publishing arm, LVL11.

Finnish video game developer and entertainment company Rovio Entertainment introduced a new publishing label called LVL11. This is on top of the existing Rovio Stars mobile game publishing initiative. Via Rovio Stars, Rovio publishes games that have entertaining gameplay and memorable characters. Via LVL11, Rovio publishes games that don’t really fit the Angry Birds franchise. Thanks to LVL11, Rovio can roll out experimental and outlandish projects.

One such project has already been announced: RETRY. Via the new LVL11 publishing arm, Rovio plans to roll out the new RETRY game. When? A precise release date has not been provided yet. Rovio simply said it will hit app stores very soon.
UPDATE: the game is available right now in the Finnish App Store. It is not available in the US App Store at the time of writing this.

RETRY is a retro or old school game. It will make you feel like you’re playing the 8-bit games of old.
The goal in the game is to guide a small airplane from point A to point B. You will have to maneuver it and collect coins and you will have to maneuver it so you avoid all sorts of obstacles. This will not be easy! You will crash, you will fail. But you can try again and again, until you get it right and complete the level.

As part of the LVL11 publishing initiative, Rovio is in the process or rolling out RETRY.

As part of the Rovio Stars publishing initiative, Rovio already rolled out four games: Word Monsters, Ice Breaker: A Viking Voyage, Tiny Thief, and Juice Cubes.
