After testing “On This Day” for about a year, Facebook is finally ready to make it available to everyone. The social networking site just announced that it started to roll out this new feature to Facebook users around the world.

Thanks to “On This Day”, you can take a trip down memory lane, you can view content from this date in the past. Things you shared, posts you’ve been tagged in, posts from friends, photos, status updates, and other things from one year go on this date, from two years ago on this date, and so on.

Last year, a limited set of users got to test a new Facebook feature called “On This Day”. I was one of them, and I quite liked it. I was able to see what I shared on Facebook on that date a year ago, to see what my friends posted on that date, and so on. But then in November 2014, Facebook disabled the feature saying that it’s done testing it.

It’s now March 2015 and “On This Day” is making a comeback. Facebook announced that it started rolling it out to the masses.

“Today we’re announcing On This Day, a new way to look back at things you have shared and posts you’ve been tagged in on Facebook. Only you can see your On This Day page,” said Facebook.

“On This Day shows content from this date in the past. For example, you might see past status updates, photos, posts from friends and other things you’ve shared or been tagged in – from one year ago, two years ago, and so on. Only you will see this content unless you decide to share it with your friends.”

On This Day – Main Features
  • Content – view content from this day a year ago, two years ago, and so on. When I say content, I mean photos, status updates, posts, and so on.
  • Edit, delete, share content – the content mentioned above can be edited, deleted, and shared with others.
  • Notifications – subscribe to notifications and get an alert when there are memories to look back on.
To play with the new “On This Day” feature, you must click on the “On This Day” bookmark, search for “On This Day”, or visit Facebook.com/OnThisDay.

Please note that “On This Day” is currently rolling out globally on web and mobile. If you can’t play with it, have some patience. You’ll be able to use it soon.
