In a move that seems to draw focus away from the new iPhone 5, Motorola Mobility unveiled a new smartphone with Intel Inside and Edge-to Edge Display – the new RAZR i.

The new Motorola RAZR i smartphone, the result of a collaboration between Motorola Mobility and the Intel Corporation, has a lot to offer. The device has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display that spans from one edge to another and it has a fast Intel Atom processor that can reach speeds of 2.0 GHz. This means you have no borders on the display – the entire screen is your playground – and with the powerful processor, you will easily jump from one app to another.

You may be worried that with all this power, the new RAZR i will quickly drain away its battery. Motorola Mobility explained that the smartphone has a long lasting battery that’s 40% more powerful than Apple’s iPhone 4S.

Motorola Mobility built the RAZR i so it can take a beating. The device comes with a diamond cut aircraft-grade aluminum frame to complement the 4.3-inch edge-to-edge display. While the back of the smartphone is made DuPont KEVLAR strong, the front is made of Corning Gorilla Glass that can protect against scratches and scrapes. The whole device is covered with a splash-guard coating that protects against liquids.

Getting back to the powerful Intel Atom processor, thanks to it the smartphone’s 8MB camera loads in less than a second. The camera comes with High Dynamic Range (HDR) capabilities, it features an illuminated sensor to help you get a great shot in low light conditions, and a multi-shot mode than takes 10 snaps in less than a second.

“Together with Intel, we’re redefining what people can expect from a mobile device. A camera that launches in an instant, Web pages that load blazingly fast and a device that’s the perfect balance of screen size and fit in hand,” said Jim Wicks, senior vice president, Consumer Experience Design, Motorola Mobility. “RAZR i delivers just that when you put an Intel-fast processor in a beautifully designed phone and add in extra long battery life.”

“Motorola RAZR i with Intel Inside naturally blends together the value propositions of high performance Intel Architecture and great battery life, Motorola Mobility device innovation and the Android™ platform,” said Erik Reid, general manager, Intel’s Mobile and Communications Group. “Intel’s goal is to provide compelling technology options that translate into great user benefits and experiences. RAZR i is a great proofpoint in the collaboration and we’re thrilled to be working with Motorola to bring this edge-to-edge experience enhanced with Intel Inside to people around the world.”
