According to research firm Hitwise, in the week that ended on March 13, visits to Facebook accounted for 7.07% of web traffic – Google visits accounted for 7.03%

"It shows content sharing has become a huge driving force online," said Matt Tatham, director of media relations at Hitwise. "People want information from friends they trust, versus the anonymity of a search engine. It's definitely a big moment for Facebook, even though they beat by a small margin."

Every web service that is popular draws the attention of the people with malicious intent that lurk about the internet. Several companies that specialize in providing security software solutions, including McAfee and Sophos, issued warnings about a new email scam that targets Facebook users. The of this scam is to steal the user’s Facebook password.

“Because of the measures taken to provide safety to our clients, your password has been changed.
You can find your new password in attached document.

Thanks,
The Facebook Team.”

The attachment is not a new password – it is a malicious piece of software used to steal passwords.
