phpserv
Introduction
phpserv is a framework aimed to allow developers to quickly write a server daemon in PHP. There is a webserver and "Quote of the Day" server example provided in this package.
Note: This is *NOT* an ordinary PHP script. You will need a specially configured PHP for this.

While phpserv is a very flexible, protocol-independent framework, the example applications are only meant to illustrate phpserv's features and are very simple. If you are looking for a full-featured webserver, you might find nanoweb more interesting.
Testimonials
"Just wanted to let you know that I've been having a blast with PHPServ. I'm using it as a foundation for load balancing a cluster of replicated databases. It only serves select statements as there is a master that takes care of everything else. " - T.R. C
