Replacer

Have you ever run into a situation where you have thousands of HTML files which contain something (like an affiliate link code) that you want to update? If so, Replacer is the perfect utility for you.

Gone are the days of hand-editing hundreds or even thousands of files to replace something simple like the HTML title, a link domain, or an image URL. Use Replacer to search for and replace words, numbers, terms, phrases, and even HTML code across your entire site at once.

With Replacer, you're in control! You simply input the starting directory, the search term or phrase to look for, and the replacement text. You determine whether or not Replacer should act recursively (following directories within the starting directory) or limit itself only to the initial directory. You tell Replacer whether searches should be case sensitive or case insensitive. You even control how verbose Replacer is while it's working.

Optionally, you can set a file extension filter so that Replacer only searches through files with a specific extension. This feature - which we suggest that you use - not only saves time in terms of avoiding searching through unneeded files, but it also restricts Replacer from messing with files it shouldn't be, namely binary files like images, movies, and sounds. (Binary files can contain just about any string imaginable, even when you don't expect them to, so it's highly recommended that you avoid them by using the file extension filter.)
