PHPezmlmAdmin

PHPezmlmAdmin is a set of php3 and html web pages that makes administering ezmlm mailing lists easy (or atleast i hope so). It works well with current ezmlm-idx patches (0.323). At the moment it offers basic functionality like:

• creating mailing list
• deleting mailing list
• modifying existing mailing lists
• subscribing users (as users, digest users or moderators)
• unsubscribing users

Everyting is html form driven and should be easy enough to understand even without the documentation. Look at the screenshots if you want to know how does it look like.

WARNING: This program is still under heavy development and i'm not brave enough to call it stable. BUT it works for me and it should also work for you, only some functionality can be missing!

Instalation procedure and usage

Required software:

• qmail+ezmlm installed
• ezmlm-idx patches applied
• Apache with php3 compiled in (tested with various Apaches and php 3.0.11 and 3.0.12 but i'm not using any fancy extensions or whatever, so it should work on any Apache with any php3 but current versions are recomended ofcourse)
• a web browser with frames support to use the system.

Pre-requisites:

• You have to create a user that will be used as a "list-user" ie. every list will run on his account. Make that account blocked so nobody can log in and use it. The default user is "lista" and path to it's home is "/home/lista".
• Your web server has to run with the same UID as your "list-user" . At this point you can not make ezmlm program suid cause the admin program itself also has to access the mailing lists' dir.
• You have to unpack the distribution into a dir under your DocumentRoot somewhere and edit "config.php3" file to make it suitable for your instalation. Edit the variables on the begining of the file, the names should be self explanatory.
• Read the FAQ! It's composed from the emails i answer. Maybe your question is answered here.

Usage:

Connect to your web server + add the path to the instalation directory like: http://myhost.mydomain/PHPezmlmAdmin/ and use the options from the panel on the left side.

Future plans

The development on this package will continue. I will add as much funcionality as i need personaly so it'll grow with me. I will also incorporate good stuff if i get any from you. If you need something but you don't know how to code it then let me know. If time permits me, i'll implement it eventualy.
