Tec-Observe for Pocket PC Publisher Description
TecObserve For Pocket PC handheld Devices Collecting data on technology integration into classroom instruction is valuable information for an administrator. In the day of tight budgets, a school/district needs to track the educational benefit of its investment in technology. Now, you can leverage the power and ease of a handheld computer to capture the data necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of technology integration into the curriculum. TecObserve is a software program that resides on your Pocket PC or Windows desktop/laptop and is synchronized to your Pocket PC handheld computer. It was created using HanDBase (www.ddhsoftware.com), a nationally recognized PDA software development company with years of experience. TecObserve will help you collect the necessary data for grant evaluation purposes. This tool has been correlated to the evaluation requirements in California for the federal grant program, Enhancing Education Through Technology. TecObserve is simple to use. First, TecObserve helps you determine what area you would like to observe. Next, the TecObserve component on your handheld computer allows you to discreetly collect quantifiable data on classroom activities. Using categorization and time-stamping features, TecObserve lets you capture data in seven categories that include:
  • Student Standards (Content and Technology)
  • Computer Use
  • Internet Use
  • Video/Multimedia Use
  • Other Uses
  • Teacher Integration Strategies
  • Assistive Technology Strategies Through the use of simple checkboxes and text fields, this tool allows you to quickly get a snapshot of the use of technology in the classroom. Finally, TecObserve gives you the information you need to reflect on the observation. The next time you synchronize your handheld, TecObserve downloads a complete record of each classroom visit and prints that record as a form or graphical chart, giving you a detailed account in each category. Using the built in chart features, communicating the analysis of observations has never been easier. These graphs can then be used for grant reporting purposes. The developers of TecObserve are educators that have personally conducted hundreds of classroom observations. They are also experts in the area of technology integration into the curriculum. Not only do they know how valuable your time is, but also how important tracking quality technology integration is to increasing student achievement. This tool maximizes the investment of a handheld computer by collecting, analyzing and communicating the success of technology integration observed by the administrator. Observation, Data Analysis and Communication are core skills for today?s administrator. By using this PortaData tool, the process becomes digitally enhanced and data-driven. Used throughout California. Customization Available We do training workshops to ensure easy implementation of these tools. To learn more, check us out online at: www.portadata.com
