Psiloc miniGPS for SEP800/P900;Motorola920/925;BenQP30 Publisher Description
Psiloc miniGPS is a powerful tool to locate oneself in the GSM network! Its main goal is to perform defined actions, events, based on the locations taken from the GSM network.

It also shows the details of the network cell, to which the phone is logged in at the moment. User may create his/her own database of network cells by adding the ones he/ she is logged in and also the ones he/she wants to type in.

However, the best of all is that user may create EVENTS! Once there are a few cells in the database user can create events on the basis of those cells.

Currently MiniGPS offers five types of events:

  • Alarm
That event means that end user may set up an alarm, that will activate when the mobile phone would approach or exit selected location (selected cells). So using this application end user may sleep in the train to work/school, knowing that his/her device will wake him/her up exactly at the desired station, even if the train will be late or before scheduled time.

  • SMS
The automatic SMS sending event can be used to inform the end user family of coming back from work or to notify the coworker that the truck is coming to plan the work more effectively etc.
  • Start application
The automatic start of the application can be very handy while using the specified applications always in the some location (cells), for example Calculator at work.

  • Colors
The event lets the end user switching between colors schemes created in Psiloc Color Schemes application based on the location of the device.

  • Periodic SMS
This event enables sending SMS messages periodicaly in defined time interval with included cell name, cell id, and group name.

Since in big cities users are usually in range of a few network cells it is possible to collect them all and put them to the groups like Home or Office and than create events for the whole group instead of individual cells.

For those who like to be well informed miniGPS displays not only the name of the current cell, but also its identification number and even the current signal strength in dBm units! dBm values are displayed according to C2 parameter - it works very accurate that way.

At the current stage of developing the application, due to some problems in SE firmware we show only cell id, but it seems to be good enough for performing events. Since there is a big interest on this application we are developing it further! Among the features that are going to come are the following.

It will be also possible to register the whole trip every cell from start to end with login times of a trip will be taken. We are also thinking of adding support for locating friends and showing position on simple maps.
