PocketMoney Helper Publisher Description

PocketMoney Helper is an application that supplements the functionality of PocketMoney by Catamount Software. PocketMoney Helper allows a user to perform two identical transactions to two separate accounts.

Why on Earth would I want to do that?

With PocketMoney, you can keep track of all of your finances just as you would with a checkbook application on your desktop computer, but you can take it with you wherever you go like a regular paper check register.

This makes PocketMoney perfect for a person who wants to strictly adhere to a budget, because the ability to record a transaction anytime and anywhere makes it less likely that a user will forget to record an expenditure.

One of the best ways to stick to a budget with PocketMoney is by maintaining several "virtual" accounts; one account each for your mortgage, car payment, grocery budget, electric budget, etc.. Each time you get paid, you split the money between each budget account and also deposit the whole amount into the "real" account register where the money is actually stored. This can be accomplished with a repeating transaction.

Now you have two separate records of your finances. Select all the "virtual" accounts as part of your "total worth". Now the total worth listed in the accounts screen should be equal to the total of the accounts that are not selected as part of the total worth (i.e., checking and cash).

Here''s where PocketMoney Helper comes in. Instead of recording two separate transactions in PocketMoney (one for the virtual account and one for the real one), you add the transaction with PMH, and both transactions are created for you.
