As a guitar tuner, PhontTuner's clearest note frequency holding ability captures the frequency of a string more accurately than conventional guitar tuners. It also provides excellent tuning for steel guitar, bass guitar, electric guitar and various acoustic guitars.

Adjustable frequency scale to set reference note A4 from 435Hz to 445Hz. Tap on the slider bar directly or the triangular arrow on both ends to set the A4 frequency. Can also use external instrument to generate an A4 tone and tap on the return arrow to calibrate A4.

Calibrated Sound Texture pattern reflects the timbre of sound.

Tap on the Mathematical Cochlea to generate the pitch pipe tone. The information about the selecte tone (eg key, Hz and sound texture) will be displayed in sky blue color.

Get the initial 'do' tone correct by adjusting your air pressure and muscle tension. Notice any unintention tone fluctuation. When you have get a stable 'do', practice the whole octave do-re-mi-fa-so-la-te-do' to see whether the fading needles all fall on the marks C-D-E-F-G-A-B. Improve the tone that is most seriously off-tuned in conjunction with its neighbouring tone. After mastering the basics, look out for subtle errors such as pitch drop near end of note indicated by the needle pointer rotating anti-clockwise.
