The iPhone may come in handy with your traveling abroad, but when you are in the realm of imagination there are no borders and no limitations. For the people that like to dream about super heroes, like to pretend they are part of their own cartoon or western movie, I have some apps that will put a big smile on their faces.

First of all, it must be said that in the near future you will be able to follow the adventures of your favorite superheroes directly in iTunes. Marvel Comics who is responsible for creating popular champions of justice like Captain America and the Fantastic Four has announced that it will commercialize “In-Motion” comic books via iTunes. These will not be your traditional kind of comics, they will feature animated panels and the voice talents of popular actors.

Fancy yourself a cartoon character but no matter how many pictures you take of yourself you still don’t resemble one? Cartoonizeme, developed by Portegno Apps and marketed for $1 or for free if you get the lite version, allows you to turn a normal picture into a veritable cartoon.

If laughing your fiendishly looking mustache off with Cartoonizeme was not enough, then try out Wanted (iTunes link here). This app allows you to turn a picture of yourself or an image of a friend into a wanted poster much like the ones you see in Western movies.

Feeling musically inspired? With VoicePainter (iTunes link here) you can use your vocal skills to paint. This app will turn your harmonious hymns into a visual representation of your music (or however else you wish to express yourself). There are no complicated instructions on how to use this app. All you have to do is pick one of three drawing modes and sing/growl/talk away.
