iPhone Apps: Find a Mechanic while I Have an Orgasm

There was a time when some kind of applications would not make it to the App Store; now it seems that Apple’s admissions standards are a bit lax and besides the obviously useful apps you can also find some apps that go beyond funny, that reach a whole new level of awkwardness (and I’m not talking just about those fart joke apps).

Starting with the useful apps, how many times have you wondered if your car mechanic is pulling a fast one on you? Or how many times has you car broken down by the side of the road and you needed a quick way to get a tow? RepairPal, web site that manages an impressive archive of local garages and mechanics and can give you a quick estimate on your car repairs, has launched a new iPhone app that provides the same functionality as the web site. And you can get the RepairPal iPhone app free-of-cost.

CEO with RepairPal, David Sturtz comments: “We’re proud to give consumers the critical, money saving auto repair information they’ve been asking for on a mobile platform, anytime, anywhere. RepairPal for the iPhone is the first application for a mobile device that gives drivers an accurate and convenient way to access information they need for free when they’re on the go.”

Moving on, there is now a new iPhone app called Recital Organ that performs a simple enough task: it puts a piano-like keyboard on your iPhone’s screen, and every time you hit a key you will hear a woman make a sound, the kind of sound you only expect to hear in the bedroom well after the kids have gone to bed.

“After years of war and terrorism, mankind seems to have forgotten that the essential thing in this world is tenderness. The result is that there are now hundreds of apps for your iPhone and iPod that deal with either violent death and farts but very few that aim to simply share the love,” says ChocoFlop, the developer behind this app that is currently waiting for Apple to approve the app.
