iPhone App Lets You See Naked People, Sort Of

Remember the X-ray glasses you dreamt about as a kid, the ones that would let you see through solid matter, just like Superman can see though walls and stuff. As you grew up I bet you wanted the same glasses to sneak a peak at Mary and Jane and Alice and all the other good looking girls you knew. There is now an iPhone app that promises to deliver on your teenage fantasies.

The guys over at Presselite came up with an iPhone app that says it can see through clothes. The app is called Nude It and has been granted access to the App Store about a week back. For just $0.99 you can get it directly from the App Store (link here) and see what your friends are hiding under their clothes.

The official description of the app goes something like this: “Nude It app shows your friends naked! Nude It is a funny Augmented Reality application for the iPhone that lets you see through clothes. Simply point your iPhone at a friend (less than 6.5 ft / 2 m from you), and using Nude It scanning technology, you will see him or her totally nude. Please, note that you must clearly see your friend's face on the screen to get good results.”

Presselite includes a couple of photos of Nude It in action – just take a look at the bottom. I have to say there is one thing I find annoying. Nude should mean, you know, nothing but your birthday suit. Why does it stop at the dude’s boxer shorts and mainly, the girl’s undergarments? Also, the dude seems a lot more buff than he actually is.

This is the duh moment. The Nude It doesn’t actually see through clothes. It just uses the head of the person you’re shooting and superimposes an image of some undergarments. Still, it is a funny little app that should provoke a few laughs when you use it on your friends.
