Verizon Wireless announced that it is no longer taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4. Why you ask? Why simply because all iPhone 4s available for pre-order have already sold out. That happened in less than a day – in 18 hours to be more precise. If you go to the Verizon Wireless site at verizonwireless.com/iphone you will see the following message:

We are no longer taking pre-sale orders.
Experience yours when it’s available online and in stores.

On the 3rd of February Cupertino-based software developer announced that the iPhone 4 on Verizon would become available for pre-order the following day, the 4th of February, on the App Store at apple.com and on the aforementioned Verizon Wireless site at verizonwireless.com/iphone.

The fact that the iPhone 4s on Verizon (Verizon did not say how many it put up for pre-order) sold in the first 18 hours is proof that users want the mobile device – a lot. Further proof is that at one time Verizon’s servers couldn’t handle the number of users. Some users got through, some found that for them Verizon’s servers stopped responding. The problem was promptly resolved though.

If you did not get to pre-order the iPhone 4 on Verizon because it sold out in the first 18 hours, you can order it on the 9th of February, or you can purchase it from an Apple Store or from a Verizon Wireless Communication Store.

“Beginning on Wednesday, February 9, all qualified customers will be able to order an iPhone 4 on Verizon through the Apple Store (www.apple.com) for delivery or reserve for in-store pick up beginning February 10. Beginning at 7 a.m. local time on Thursday, February 10, iPhone 4 on Verizon will be available to all qualified customers at Apple’s retail stores. iPhone 4 will also be available at more than 2,000 Verizon Wireless Communication Stores nationwide,” said Apple in press release.
