If you have a cat, then surely you are familiar with Friskies, the brand of cat food owned by Nestlé Purina PetCare Company, a subsidiary of Nestlé. Even if you don’t have a cat you must have heard about Friskies by now. And if you have an iPad, then surely you know that if you place the device on the floor, your cat will come over and paw at anything that’s moving on the device’s screen.

What you may not know is that Friskies has rolled out three games for the iPad, games for your cat to enjoy. Friskies said that the games were developed based on research of a cat’s senses and reaction to different stimuli. The games have been created using HTML5 and CSS3 and work on the iPad and on Android-powered tablets.

“Friskies® is excited to feed your cats’ senses with three new games made just for cats. The colors, movement, and game-play have been researched and tested for maximum feline fun,” said Friskies on gamesforcats.com.

The three new games in question are:
Cat Fishing – a gold fish swims around the monitor; when the cat taps the fish, it scores one point. When the cat catches ten fish, it wins the game.
Tasty Treasures Hunt – various treats (spinning turkeys, fish, chickens and wedges of cheese) fly around the monitor and disappear when tapped upon. The game ends when the cat catches 8 treats.
Party Mix-up – various treats fly around the monitor; they break off into more treats when tapped upon. There are 5 rounds in this game, rounds that increase in speed and difficulty. A round ends when the cat catches 5 treats.

A word of warning about these three games for cats. Friskies said that “the bare glass screen on the iPad® stands up to our cat's claws with no problems;” it did caution iPad owners about the fact that “a cat's sharp claws could possibly damage add-on plastic film covers.”
