eBay Inc, the company behind the popular online auction shopping webpage, has updated its iPhone-dedicated software application to include Push Notifications. eBay Mobile 1.4.0, thanks to the new Push Notifications feature included in it will let you keep a close eye on the items you want to purchase without having to keep the app up running and constantly monitoring it.The app will use the Push Notification feature to inform you of various circumstances that need your attention. Like for example the fact that someone has outbid you and you may not get the item you wanted; or the fact that an auction you entered is about to come to an end. If any of these two situations occur, eBay Mobile will send you a Push Notification – tap the View button and select an action to perform: close and focus on other things, or jump on the auction and make a higher bid.
You can then go about your normal business safe in the knowledge that if someone outbids you again, eBay Mobile will inform you one more time. To my mind, many users out there that want, really want, to win an auction will find this functionality pleasing.
There is one more feature that has been included in the eBay mobile 1.4.0 iPhone app – PayPal integration. This means that you can make purchases using PayPal directly from within the app. Until now you could only make payments by using a traditional computer or by accessing your PayPal account from the Safari mobile browser. These are all things of the past now. The new features in the iPhone app allow you to easily make a payment for the auction you just won because the Push Notification feature informed you that someone outbid you, and you outbid right back.
If you would like to get the eBay for iPhone app, eBay Mobile 1.4.0, an iTunes download location is available here.
