Yahoo! South East Asia is currently running an interesting campaign for users in Indonesia and the Philippines. The campaign in question is called Meme of the Week Challenge and runs until the 30th of June, 2010. Those who take part in the competition can win iPod Nanos or even an Apple iPad. The campaign is based on Meme from Yahoo!, a newly launched service that allows uses to easily and rapidly share content they find online.

“Launched in Indonesia and the Philippines, the Meme (or Mim in Indonesia) of the Week Challenge encourages Internet users to think outside the box and post their thoughts and ideas on particular topics using Meme from Yahoo!. The posts can be in any format including videos, music, photos or text,” said Yahoo!

In Indonesia and the Philippines, a new topic will be announced every two weeks until the 30th of June. An example of a topic is who would you vote for to become the president of the Philippines. Using Meme from Yahoo!, users can come up with interesting posts related to this topic. The most interesting posts will be awarded a cool prize. Prizes range from Yahoo! premiums to iPod Nanos and the grand prize, an iPad.

The topics can range from travel and sports to news and music. One thing will not change though – in all there will be only 5 topics. But don’t focus on that too much. What you need to focus on is coming up with a cool post related to that topic. The post can me anything – text, images, videos, music. If you decide to go with text, then know that there is a 2000 character limit.

“Yahoo! users simply need to register for a Meme account and the Meme of the Week Challenge to get started. By simply using the relevant competition topic #tags <#memeoftheweek_’topic’> or <#’topic’_mimmingguini>, participants can set about postinginteresting content that they want to share. Yahoos and agencies associated with this challenge aren’t eligible for the challenge,” added Yahoo!
