Yahoo! Messenger 2.0 iPhone App Is Out with Voice and Video Calls

The Yahoo! Messenger iPhone app has been updated to version 2.0, a version that as Yahoo! explained, comes with a “bunch of cool new features.” With the latest Yahoo! Messenger iPhone app version you can for example make free voice and video calls to your Messenger friends, or you can make calls to landline and mobile phone for a small fee. If calling is not your thing, you can also send free text messages.

To better put things in perspective, here is what you can expect to get from the Yahoo! Messenger for iPhone app, version 2.0:

Advertising

Voice and video calls
With the app you can make free voice calls to your Messenger friends and you can make video calls and stream live video. You can also make low cost calls to landline, mobile phones, and international phone numbers.

Free SMS
You can send text messages free of charge by using the Yahoo! Messenger app. Please note that the message’s recipient may be charged by the carrier, so check before you send someone a ton of messages.

Multitasking
Yahoo! Messenger will wait in the background while you access other iPhone apps.

Notifications
When one of your Messenger friends sends you a message, you will see a notification. You will see this notification when the app is running, when the app is running in the background, and even when the app is not running at all.

Sharing
You can share photos and video in real-time with your Messenger friends.

Performance
The latest Yahoo! Messenger for iPhone app is faster than previous versions. Besides offering a faster Messenger experience, the app also offer a simpler, richer experience.

Language support
The application’s language support has been extended to cover Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia, and Romanian.

If you already have Yahoo! Messenger installed on your iPhone, here is what you have to do to get the latest version:
- Tap the App Store icon on your device’s screen.
- Search for Yahoo! Messenger.
- Download and install version 2.0 of the app.
If you have an update alert for the Yahoo! Messenger app, then you don’t need to do all that searching.
